Hi There.

I'm new to tiff and quite puzzled about the master repository state:

• the latest release appears to be tiff-v3.4-tar.{z,Z} . modification time is coherent with HOWTWO and README one, BUT README mentions different size/time/sum/md5 for tiff-v3.4-tar.gz !!!
• mailing list archive is more than 2 years old which is rather strange, considering the beta activity

there is a fairly recent beta (tiff-v3.4beta036-tar.gz). is it stable? which version do you advise me to install?
