I just filed a bug report for 3.9.0beta here regarding tiff2pdf...

  http://bugzilla.remotesensing.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1585

I did take a look at the existing bugzilla reports to see if maybe this had already been reported (as it seems a rather blatant issue to me), but I was a bit disheartened to find 82 bug reports there that are not marked CLOSED/RESOLVED. That makes it rather cumbersome to determine if I'm reporting something that's already been reported... or not.

I'd almost be happy to dig into the code myself and fix it... but standing back and seeing the amount of unresolved and open issues I can't help but feel discouraged by the probability that I'd spend a long time digging and fixing.

The last libtiff version that I have successfully used long-term in production was 3.7.2. I did try out 3.8.2 for a short time, ran into trouble, and then saw that 3.9.0 was on its way... so decided to wait to try out 3.9.0 when I had more motivation later.

I guess I'm a bit concerned that this bug report will remain untouched as many others on Bugzilla have nearly so remained since their creation.

Would someone mind reassuring my fears? Maybe a state-of-the-project announcement is due... let us know what's going on with 3.9.0 and 4.0.0 release schedules... what's going on with Bugzilla, etc?

Thanks,

Lee.
