I tried with 3.9.0beta to write a 3Gb tiff file. I could write it, but I can't open this file with anykind of program. Gimp says: Not a TIFF or MDI file, bad magic number 19(0x13). Also with AsTiffTagViewer I can't open it. You wrote that I can work with smaller pieces just like in my code sample. But if I do this already what else is wrong in my code?

Marius,

In first of all your code snippet is not complete and I don't have informartion on how you are opening the file and how it is closed. It is possible that you just do not close it properly.

Andrey,

At first files less then 2Gb works fine with the same code. The opening and close stuff is actually from the freeimage lib. I suppose this should be correct. But of course if it helps I can send the whole code from opening till close.

Thanks a lot.

marius
