Talking about sample files, is there anywhere that sample files are put for download? Given the number of people using tiff lib it would seem to make sense to build a large test suite containing different examples of tiff files of varying formats, compression, sizes, etc... I have found a small test suite that can be downloaded, but it doesn't exactly cover much.

The only test suite I can recommend is the one bundled with libtiff:

ftp://ftp.remotesensing.org/pub/libtiff/v3.4pics.tar.gz

If you have image demonstarting features not covered with this suite, you are welcome to add the one. Image should be free from any copyrights and not very large in size.
