Ick, That sure is unfortunate.
I see that the account has almost no activity whatsoever -- one recent but completely empty repo, and a second that hasn't been touched for 4 years and doesn't have a single star or fork. Has anybody contacted the holder of github.com/libtiff to see if they'd be willing to give/sell the account?
