How long after posting should it take for a message to appear on the list?

The speed of delivery is absolutely limited by the speed of light through optical fiber. The message must travel from your computer to the remotesensing.org and then on to destination computers.

Quite often when I post to the list, the post to the list is already delivered to my inbox before my mailer returns its inbox display (about one second).
