Hi,

We are not in a position to be primary maintainers of a public domain libtiff++, but I believe we could contribute to such an effort if there is interest. When I posted a note about a year ago suggesting as much there was no (none, nada) response, but maybe things have changed? If there is sufficient interest it may be appropriate to set up a separate list.

From the day I know about libtiff, I use it with C++ and found that it work well. Personally I think libtiff++ is a good idea, but keeping things compatible, or at least usable, with codes written in C is really a problem. How about freezing the C code in some libtiff version and develop the new things in libtiff++ only? Or maybe someone would be interested in trying to sync libtiff++ and libtiff.

Regards,
  Beta.
