Our files need to have tag 116 (rows/strip) in long format, but they are currently in something else (number 3, integer?). Is it possible to change the data type of a known tag?

Doing a tiffset seems to get it to long from short, but completely borks the file (value goes from 3000-ish to 456000 ish, and won't open). Any suggestions? I also need to change the offset to 8, but tiffcp completely destroys the validity of the file if I do that (via -o). Ideas?

Cheers
