I agree with Phil. I am on this list because about 30 years ago, I was working on a small program that used libtiff, and when I ported it to SCO Unix, I think that I had to join the list to submit the patches. In any case, browsing https://www.iso.org/, ISO 12639:2004 "Graphic technology — Prepress digital data exchange — Tag image file format for image technology (TIFF/IT)" is CHF 178, ISO 12234-2:2001 "Electronic still-picture imaging — Removable memory — Part 2: TIFF/EP image data format" is another CHF 178, and ISO 12639:2004/AMD 1:2007 "Graphic technology — Prepress digital data exchange — Tag image file format for image technology (TIFF/IT) — Amendment 1: Use of JBIG2-Amd2 compression in TIFF/IT" is CHF 16. Is there any reason why new standards couldn't be created under a group that could make them freely accessible?
