Hello all,

Is there a tag I can set to distinguish between 3 band (24 bit) monochrome, where all three bands have equivalent pixels, and 3 band color (RGB)?

I know it is a waste of space to have three band monochrome, but it is a constraint I'm forced to live with.

I would like to somehow know if the image is monochrome or really RGB without being forced to manually check the pixels for equivalence.
