disable one which breaks their application. So leaving it on is best for everyone but the developers. At least running out of address space should no longer be an issue on 64-bit systems.

Running out of address space continues to be an issue on 64-bit systems. Just because a system runs a 64-bit OS does not mean that the system is equipped for extra capacity.
