2002.12.26 22:10 "Newbie Install Help", by Alan Little

I'm not only a tiff/libtiff newbie, but not heavy on Unix experience, so please bear with me. I'll try to provide as much information as possible.

First, uname -a:

FreeBSD gao.pair.com 4.6-STABLE FreeBSD 4.6-STABLE #13: Mon Aug 19 10:31:00 GMT 2002 sigma@vondu.pair.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/PAIRa i386

Second, non-default configure settings:

DIR_BIN="/usr/home/ACCT/libs/libtiff/bin"
DIR_LIB="/usr/home/ACCT/libs/libtiff/lib"
DIR_INC="/usr/home/ACCT/libs/libtiff/include"
DIR_MAN="/usr/home/ACCT/libs/libtiff/man"
DIR_HTML="/usr/home/imudb/libs/libtiff/tiff"

configure, make and make install run without incident. When I try to run any of the utilities, I get the message

/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libtiff.so.3" not found

I can post the configure and make outputs if that will help. If so, should I send it inline or as an attachment?
