A question which came up in a discussion this morning. Does PDF allows filesize to be greater than 4 GB?

Yes.

PDF 1.0 allows for files up to 10 Gig. HOWEVER, Acrobat 6.0 won't read any file over 2 Gig, and Apple's Preview will crash on any PDF file over 2 Gig.
