we tried to use the Tifflib for decoding large images with CCITT4 coding which have more than 65535 pixels/line. The only effect is, that the programm crashes. Images with fewer than 2^16 Pixels/line work fine. Is this a known bug?

Could you try the attached tif_fax3.c? It includes a few patches since the last public release. If your problems persist, please make a sample file triggering the problem available, and submit a bug through the bug reporting system and I will try to look into it.

I tried it and the crash is away now, thank you very much. The sources of 3.5.5 release have the bug, your file havn't.
