TIFF-FX Profile J describes JBIG compression. As RFC 2301, it is a Proposed Standard in the IETF as the file format for Internet Fax; it is also referenced by the ITU standard (ITU-T Rec. T.37) for Internet Fax. The latest version of the spec is available at http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-fax-tiff-fx-02.txt. This version incorporates results from the TIFF-FX Interoperability Testing, which concluded earlier this year, and is on track to become a Draft Standard.
