I was wondering who handled getting libtiff into the Cygwin distribution. The version that is in there is quite old (version 3.7.0beta2-1 is the latest).

What must be done to get the latest release into Cygwin? (This doesn't address the problems I'm having trying to compile libtiff in Cygwin, but I'll get to that in a different thread.)

If the compilation problems have something to do with libjpeg, then it is useful to know that the libtiff development (CVS) version has been fixed so it does compile. Note that after getting libtiff to compile, I didn't do any extensive testing. The libjpeg now distributed with Cygwin has been altered from the original '6b' release.
