This doesn't happen to be related to this, does it?

Edward,

As I read it bug 890 is a distinct problem from bug 1004. Bug 890 is the problem of having a tile or strip of larger than 2GB... a size not representable in the signed 32bit "tsize_t" type. 1004 is about writing past the 4GB boundary without realizing it and writing out corrupt offsets.

Best regards,
