2021.02.12 15:47 "[Tiff] LibTIFF (tiffset) Internal error", by Andriy Marchak

Hi there,

I was receiving an error when trying to edit the <User Comment> tag for BigTIFF or even TIFF file:

The error message:

*TIFFFieldWithTag: Internal error, unknown tag 0x9286.*

*Field name "37510" is not recognised.*

I’m using the next command:

*tiffset -sf 37510 D:\temp\Uploading_files_to_S3\info.txt D:\temp\Uploading_files_to_S3\testing.tif*

But I can successfully add the same information for other tag, using for example:

*tiffset -sf 270 D:\temp\Uploading_files_to_S3\info.txt D:\temp\Uploading_files_to_S3\testing.tif*

I searched about this issue in forums but found only this report about the same bug:

without any comments on how to fix it.

Can you help me understand the reason for this issue and, maybe, to solve it, please?
