I notice some very nice enhancements sitting in the repository now, and since it has almost been a year since the 4.1.0 release (November 2019), I am wondering if we can start planning for another release (maybe 4.2.0?). I checked the Gitlab milestones, and it would be nice to create a new milestone there, and then start tagging pull requests and changes with an appropriate milestone: https://gitlab.com/libtiff/libtiff/-/milestones

Hope I'm not stepping on toes, but sometimes a little polite nudge is needed, ha.

I hear you!

Have the libtiff features/interfaces changed in some major way which suggest that libtiff should jump from 4.1.0 to 4.2.0 vs 4.1.1?

I do know that support for libdeflate was added recently.
